Farewell to Canberra Hospital Maternity Building

Stage Two of the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children involves a refurbishment of the existing Maternity Building, which currently houses the Birth Centre, Delivery Suite and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Before the work commences, interested members of the community who have celebrated a birth or suffered a loss in the Maternity Building are invited to a ceremony to farewell the existing facilities.

When: Wednesday, 22 August 2012

9am to 9.30am - Private reflection and building walk-through

9.30am to 10.30am - Farewell ceremony

Where: Maternity Building at the northern end of teh Canberra Hospital campus, Yamba Drive, Garran

About the ceremony

The ceremony will provide an opportunity to reflect on the many memories the Birth Centre, Delivery Suite and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit have provided over the years, as well as celebrate the hope and anticipation as these facilities transfer to their new location in the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.

Parking

Public parking is available in the multi-storey Southern Car Park or in the Yamba Drive South carpark.
