    Health and Medical Research Support Program 2008/09 (9 June 2008)

    The goal of the ACT Health and Medical Research Support Program is to boost health research. Submit your application for grants of up to $50,000 for successful applications depending upon the size and scope of the project.

    ACT Quality in Healthcare Awards 2008 (3 June 2008)

    The ACT Quality in Healthcare Awards recognise leadership and innovation in patient safety and quality of care, and publicly honour innovations that improve the delivery of safe quality care within the ACT healthcare system. Applications for the 2008 ACT Quality in Healthcare Awards close on 08 August.

    Kidney Awareness Week (29 May 2008)

    One in three Canberrans is at risk of contracting some form of kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease is the fastest growing chronic disease in Australia. There are few warning signs and people can lose 90% of their kidney function without feeling chronically ill.

    Are you first time parents expecting your baby in September 2008? (7 May 2008)

    The 'Relaxing into Parenting' course is designed to prepare expectant women and their partners or primary support person for their parenting role. The course will be conducted in Canberra over five prenatal sessions during July and August, with two postnatal sessions in October.

    Heart Fare is a free program designed to assist people with cardiovascular disease risk factors e.g. high cholesterol, high blood pressure. The next session will be held on Tuesday 6th and 13th of May from 11.30am to 1.30pm at City Health Centre in Canberra City.

    Stepping On ... falls prevention and education program for the over 70’s (18 April 2008)

    The Stepping On ... program has been developed to teach people about the many aspects of falls and injury prevention, with the aim of helping older adults identify and address their own falls risk factors. A new seven-week programme will commence on Wednesday 14 May.
