Paediatric Medicine

  • Unit provides inpatient and outpatient care for paediatric patients
  • Exposure to general paediatrics as well as sub-speciality area
  • Unit also has a paediatrician working full time in the Emergency Department which allows for exposure to a wide range of emergency paediatric conditions
  • Follow up and management of neonatal patients
  • Experience in paediatric venepuncture/cannulation, suprapubic bladder aspiration, paediatric lumbar puncture
  • Weekly paediatric grand rounds
  • Weekly paediatric clinical meetings
  • Weekly paediatric journal club and FRACP lecture program
  • Weekly neonatal journal clubs
  • Extensive opportunities for involvement in research

Paediatrics - Goulburn Surgery

  • Unit provides inpatient and outpatient care for paediatric patients
  • Exposure to general paediatrics
  • JMOs are supervised by a Fellow paediatrician and a registrar
  • Experience in paediatric venepuncture/cannulation, suprapubic bladder aspiration, paediatric lumbar puncture

Paediatric Surgery

  • Unit provides general paediatric surgical services for ACT and regional NSW
  • Experience in paediatric venepuncture/cannulation, suprapubic catheter
  • Opportunity to participate in surgical audits and other quality assurance activities
  • Daily theatre lists
  • Weekly outpatient clinical teaching sessions
  • Weekly unit meetings/journal clubs
  • Weekly paediatric clinical meetings
  • Extensive opportunities for involvement in research
