The Exercise Physiology Department based at Canberra Hospital provides the Canberra community with a service which addresses specific individual needs including functional, lifestyle and rehabilitation goals through exercise.
A referral must be made by a doctor (GP or Specialist).
About Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiologists (EP’s) are university qualified Allied Health Professionals who specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries.
EP’s provide physical activity and behaviour change support for clients with conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer, arthritis, COPD and many more.
Our services
Our experienced staff provide specific assessment of functional, lifestyle and rehabilitation needs and exercise prescription relevant to individual functional goals. These programs are delivered in supervised group sessions.
Hydrotherapy
Community-based patients are accepted and inpatients that require hydrotherapy are referred to Physiotherapy services.
Patients must be able to dress, shower & perform self-care tasks independently.

Referral forms can be obtained by calling the Exercise Physiology Department on (02) 6244 2573.
Note: You must have a medical referral before commencing in the gym or hydrotherapy pool.

Gymnasium
8:30am — 4:45pm | Monday to Friday
Hydrotherapy
9am — 11:30am | Wednesday and Friday
11am — 1:30pm | Tuesday and Thursday
