Research
The Department of Neonatology supports and promotes a strong research culture. Medical and Nursing staff actively participate in both local and international research studies. The aim of conducting research in the unit is to evaluate and improve the care and long term outcomes of infants treated at the Centre for Newborn Care.
As a teaching hospital we collaborate with other institutions involved in research – i.e. the Australian National University, the University of Canberra and the Sydney University.
Nurses completing post graduate studies such as Graduate Diploma's and Masters of Science are able to conduct research projects in the Centre for Newborn Care.
Innovative and important topics are now being acted on in the unit after research carried out by the staff of the unit.
