Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O)

The Aged Care and Rehabilitation Service's Prosthetics and Orthotics service includes:

  • Assessment, and advisory services;
  • Manufacture, fitting and repair of artificial limbs or support devices.
  • Prosthetist / Orthotists are university qualified Allied Health professionals.
  • Prosthetics is the provision of clinical care and artifical limbs to amputees.
  • Orthotics is the provision of devices to support or align the body, to reduce pain and enhance mobility and function.
  • The Aged Care & Rehabilitation Service (ACRS) employs Prothetist / Orthotist and specialised technicians who assist in the manufacture, modification and repair of artificial limbs and support devices.

Eligibility

Any person can use this service.

Fees depend on the type of service provided.
