The Aged Care and Rehabilitation Service's Prosthetics and Orthotics service includes:
- Assessment, and advisory services;
- Manufacture, fitting and repair of artificial limbs or support devices.
- Prosthetist / Orthotists are university qualified Allied Health professionals.
- Prosthetics is the provision of clinical care and artifical limbs to amputees.
- Orthotics is the provision of devices to support or align the body, to reduce pain and enhance mobility and function.
- The Aged Care & Rehabilitation Service (ACRS) employs Prothetist / Orthotist and specialised technicians who assist in the manufacture, modification and repair of artificial limbs and support devices.
