The Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) provides a 24-hour, seven day a week service used for assessment and treatment of mentally ill people in crisis situations.

Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of flexible and accessible mental health services, and provides specialist treatment and rehabilitation services for people experiencing mental health issues.

We're committed to continuously improving our service to ACT residents and surrounding regions.

Mental Health has a 'no wrong door' philosophy with the aim of ensuring that information is available and people can access our service. This is part of our commitment to consumer centred care.

Mental Health works in partnership with consumers, carers, general practitioners, service providers, the community and other health care professionals to reduce the impact of mental disorders and ensure the best possible consumer outcomes in a respectful manner.

Our service is underpinned by a recovery focus and aims to promote health and wellbeing, by working closely with individuals and their support networks to minimise the impact of mental illness and maximise opportunities for recovery.

This Charter of Rights states how people who experience mental illness or mental health problems can expect to be treated by people who care for and work with them.

New mental health facilities

The ACT Government has begun work on the "Your health - our priority" program which involves the overhaul and expansion of all aspects of the ACT health system. "Your health - our priority" includes a suite of new mental health facilities including mental health assessment, adult acute inpatient, adult secure inpatient and young person's mental health units.
