All tobacco licensees in the ACT are required to keep smoking products out of view of customers in retail and wholesale outlets. Advertising and display restrictions have applied to all ACT tobacco licensees from 1 January 2011.
Tobacco product advertising and display
These laws remove the final provisions for tobacco advertising in the ACT as teenagers and young people are particularly vulnerable to tobacco advertising. This ban is expected to have a significant impact on reducing the rate of young people taking up smoking.
