Nutrition Education linked to the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education
Developed by Nutrition Australia ACT
Consistent with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
Food&ME™ - Years 7&8 consists of four modules, including Student and Teacher Toolkits and PowerPoint presentations. The course can be delivered in 4-8 lessons.
Module 1: Food for Health
Students investigate food decisions that influence their health and wellbeing and make plans for healthy food choices that align with the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating.
Module 2: Food for Energy
Students investigate the differing energy requirements that occur at different life stages and how the body uses energy from foods and reflect on their own food choices
Module 3: Label Logic
Students discuss and interpret nutrition messages found on food labels and learn how to make informed decisions about their food choices.
Module 4: Canteen Cuisine
Students learn about healthy eating environments, specifically at school and design a health promotion activity to support healthy food choices at the canteen.
