prescription medicinesClinical pharmacology and toxicology provides care for inpatients and outpatients with overdose, poisoning and adverse drug reaction problems. It also provides a consultative service to other areas of the hospital on matters relating to clinical pharmacology and toxicology, including providing clinical support for the ACT Drug & Poisons Information Services.Education

Education

There is an active teaching program in clinical pharmacology & toxicology through the ANU Medical School and for postgraduate medical, nursing and allied health staff.

This includes the National Prescribing Service post-graduate prescribing program (registration required) and Hypertox, a clinical toxicology education package.

Research

There is also an active research program, focussed on pharmaceutical and pesticide poisoning and clinical trials. A major focus of this is through the South Asian Clinical Toxicology Research Collaboration.
