The Ortho-Geriatric Service provides medical input to elderly patients who are admitted under the care of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
The team consists of a Geriatrician (Doctors who specialise in the medical care of patients over 65) and Geriatric Registrar.
Ortho-Geriatric Service is a consultative service provided by the Geriatric Team to manage the medical co-morbidities and peri-operative needs of elderly patients admitted for orthopaedic surgery.
The team works closely with the orthopaedic team, nursing and allied health staff to optimise medical management and achieve best functional outcomes, possible.
Patients over the age of 65, admitted under the care of orthopaedic surgeons.
Referrals and bookings
Automatic referral of all admissions that fulfil the criteria.
