Orthopaedic surgery

Orthopaedic  Surgery provides an outpatient service for the review and management of newly identified fractures.  This is the Fracture Clinic.  The waiting list for access to the Fracture Clinic is actively managed to ensure patients are treated equitably within clinically appropriate timeframes and with priority given to patients with an urgent clinical need.

Orthopaedic Surgery also offers access to the Registrar Review clinic.  This clinic provides access to patients who require urgent review by an Orthopaedic Registrar.  Patients can be referred to this service, once their treating medical officer has made contact with the Orthopaedic Registrar to discuss the clinical condition of the patient.  To refer a patient to this service, please have your treating medical officer make contact with the Orthopaedic Registrar through the Hospital Switchboard on (02) 624 42222.

Pre and Post operative patients are managed through the Orthopaedic Outpatient clinic.  Patients are seen by either  a Consultant Specialist, Nursing Staff or an Allied Health officer (Physiotherapist).
