The Starlight Foundation is committed to providing a program that is fun, accessible and meaningful for your child. Here at the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children the most essential element of Starlight's program delivery is, without doubt, Captain Starlight. These larger than life, fun filled characters bring fun and laughter to sick children at a time when they need it most. They are in the hospital from 8.30am to 4.00pm from Monday through to Thursday.
In the mornings the Captains conduct ward rounds in all of the Paediatric areas in the hospital. Afternoon sessions are conducted in the Playroom/Starlight Room providing your child with activities that are fun loving and very entertaining to your child as well as yourself.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Captains if your child is confined to their room as they are only too happy to visit your child to brighten up your child’s day. Captain Starlight's sole purpose is to bring smiles to sick children by distracting them from their illness and pain using entertainment and engagement.
The Playroom/Starlight Room is a co-joined space. The room is opened from Monday through to Thursday of each week.
