Handover and Doctor's Rounds

Parents are considered to be to be partners in the care of their child and are encouraged participate in the Nursing shift change communication process, or Handover.

The nursing staff change shift at 7am, 1pm and 9pm.  They will conduct a brief walking handover round where they will come to each room to discuss the status and care of your child, plus perform a safety check including their ID band, medication charts, and treatments in progress such as intravenous or oxygen therapy.

The doctors will generally do rounds in the morning, though the times may vary depending on the number of patients to be seen.

Please speak to the CNC if you have any questions regarding your child’s progress and care.
