Tuggeranong Community Health Centre
The expanded and refurbished Tuggeranong Community Health Centre delivers expanded health services in a modern, welcoming environment.
Community health centres are an important part of the ACT health system, aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community by providing the best possible care when and where it is needed.
The expanded and refurbished Tuggeranong Community Health Centre is the latest major community health project to be delivered by ACT Health. Like the centres opened over the past two years at Gungahlin and Belconnen, the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre has been designed to reflect local needs and support the demands of our growing population.
The expanded and refurbished Tuggeranong Community Health Centre opened for business on Thursday, 27 March 2014.
Services moved from their temporary location at Greenway Waters Suites back to the centre on the corner of Anketell and Pitman Streets, across from the Hyperdome and Tuggeranong Bus Interchange.
The Child and Youth Dental Program also returned to the centre.
The Community Dialysis Service will become available in the future.
More information about services available from community health centres is available on the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre Page.
The expanded and refurbished Tuggeranong Community Health Centre provides a range of health services to support a diverse and growing community in a fresh, modern environment.
The centre is located on the corner of Anketell and Pitman Streets, opposite the Hyperdome and Tuggeranong Bus Interchange.
The main entrance to the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre is located along Anketell Street. There is ample parking available across Pitman Street, and a number of spaces to the rear of the building for people with disability.
Like its counterparts in Gungahlin and Belconnen, the updated centre is light and spacious with a central reception, where staff direct clients to the relevant service. The warm, rich colours of autumn are featured throughout the building, making the waiting areas feel even more welcoming.
The principle of client-centred care underpins the physical and functional design of individual and shared work areas. The clinical facilities are state of the art, with modern equipment and open planning that allows greater collaboration between services.
The Tuggeranong Community Health Centre was designed with input from consumers and staff to ensure it is functional and appropriate for the people working there, and those they care for. The result is a community-friendly centre that enables staff to provide high levels of service.
An information booklet was produced to support a community open day held before the new centre became operational. The booklet includes more information about the new centre, its services and staff.
