Walk-in Centres in Belconnen and Tuggeranong
NEW WALK-IN CENTRES NOW OPEN AT TUGGERANONG AND BELCONNEN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRES
Like the former Walk-in Centre at Canberra Hospital that has now closed, the Walk-in Centres in Belconnen and Tuggeranong provide an alternative for fast access to health advice and one-off treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.
They expand the highly successful nurse-led Walk-in Centre model to help meet increasing demand for health services close to where people live.
The new Walk-in Centres in Belconnen and Tuggeranong were constructed as part of the development of the new health centres in those town centres.
They include comfortable waiting areas, treatment rooms, office space and their own receptions.
Although they have been incorporated into their respective health centre buildings, they have their own dedicated entrance, ensuring extended opening hours beyond those of the health centres themselves.
The Belconnen Community Health Centre opened in November 2013 and the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre opened in March 2014.
The two new Walk-in Centres opened in June 2014 (Tuggeranong) and July 2014 (Belconnen) and the Centre at Canberra Hospital has now closed.
More information about the centres is available from the Walk-in Centre website.
