Health information in languages other than English
Giving people health information that they can understand is a key part of quality health care, and is required by:
- ACT Government policy
- ACT and national legislation
- Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights
- Australian Safety and Quality Framework for Health Care
- Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
People with limited English proficiency may need written health information in languages other than English. Information in languages other than English does not replace the use of an accredited interpreter.
The following web sites provide professionally translated information on a range of health topics in many different languages. Please note: some of this information may not apply to the ACT.
