Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Pertussis (also known as whooping cough) is a highly contagious disease caused by the bacterium Bordetella pertussis.

Currently in Australia over 60% of people suffering from pertussis are adolescents or adults, however infants under six months of age are most at risk of serious complications resulting from the disease.
