The University of Canberra Hospital (UCH) brings together public rehabilitation services into one purpose built facility. The following day programs and ambulatory sessions are delivered at UCH.
Adult Mental Health Day Service
The Adult Mental Health Day Service (AMHDS) offers a wide range of programs and services to people who experience moderate to severe mental health conditions.
Our team consists of registered nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, dieticians, social workers, art therapists and peer workers to provide a multidisciplinary approach to your care and treatment.
We offer services that help improve your functional status and quality of life in a non-restrictive, safe and supportive environment.
Our group therapy programs and specialty services are exclusive to UCH and include:
- creative arts therapy
- medication clinics
- healthy lifestyle and living skills programs
- occupational therapy groups
- peer led recovery programs
- neuropsychology and cognitive remediation groups

Brindabella Rehabilitation Centre
The Brindabella Rehabilitation Centre provides day rehabilitation services and sessional therapy for people who need rehabilitation care and support but don’t require admission to hospital.
The centre, located to the left of the main foyer at UCH, offers various ongoing rehabilitation services that are tailored to your needs to help improve function, mobility and participation in daily life.
These programs are provided in a clinical setting and involve a multidisciplinary team approach.
Our services include:
- specialist rehabilitation and geriatric medical
- multidisciplinary allied health therapy, including:
- falls and falls injury prevention
- vocational assessment and rehabilitation
- driver assessment and rehabilitation
- memory assessment
- vestibular rehabilitation
- rehabilitation nurse practitioner clinics
You may be referred to the Brindabella Rehabilitation Centre after completing your rehabilitation program as an inpatient at UCH, or by your GP, specialist, allied health professional or nurse practitioner.
You can also refer yourself for some services through Community Health Intake on 02 6207 9977.
You can book into a therapy session or clinic once your referral has been processed.
