    Ever had severe sunburn, ACT Secondary Students aged 12-17 years, by age group, 1996-2017

     

    Between 1996 and 2017, the proportion of secondary students surveyed reporting ever having severe sunburn that has blistered has significantly declined (1996: 37.3%; 2017: 21.9%).  

    In 2017, older students aged 16-17 years (25.2%) were no more likely than younger students aged 12-15 years (20.4%) to report ever having severe sunburn.

    Please note that this indicator was updated in 2022 and replaces all previous versions. 

    For the purpose of reporting the Australian Secondary Students' Alcohol and Drug survey data on HealthStats, if the 95% confidence intervals of the estimates do not overlap, they are considered to be significantly different.
