Healthy Canberra Grants provides funding to community-based organisations to improve the health of Canberrans and minimise the risk of them developing chronic diseases.
This funding supports the objectives of the Healthy Canberra: ACT Preventive Health Plan 2020 – 2025.
The Plan prioritises five key areas:
- supporting children and families
- enabling active living
- increasing healthy eating
- reducing risky behaviours, including smoking, risky alcohol consumption and the transmission of sexually transmissible infections and bloodborne viruses, and
- promoting healthy ageing

In early 2023, over $1.5 million was provided across nine community organisations to deliver programs that support healthy eating and active living in children and young people within the ACT.
Healthy Canberra Grants: Target Grant: Reconnection within Priority Populations
In early 2023, $380K was awarded to 10 successful organisations to increase social connectedness and linkages within priority population groups in the ACT.
