The ACT Health Promotion Grants Program (ACTHPGP) helps improve health outcomes in the ACT and minimise the risk of people developing chronic diseases.

The ACT Health Promotion Grants Program (ACTHPGP) helps improve health outcomes in the ACT and minimise the risk of people developing chronic diseases.

We offer grants to community-based organisations through Healthy Canberra Grants and the Health Promotion Innovation Fund. This funding supports programs and projects that improve health outcomes in the following areas:

  • supporting healthy ageing
  • reducing smoking-related harm
  • reducing alcohol-related harm
  • reducing overweight and obesity through improved eating habits and increased physical activity

ACT Health Promotion Grants Program Report Card

In 2013, the ACTHPGP focussed on reducing overweight and obesity. Since then we have provided over 90% of grant funding towards programs and projects that address overweight and obesity.

The ACTHPGP Report Card and Program Summaries below give a snap shot of the program’s achievements from 2013 to 2015, as well as an overview of the work from our community partners.

The ACTHPGP uses the SmartyGrants online grant management system to manage the grant process. You can access our application and reporting forms through SmartyGrants.

Other funding sources

The ACT Government offers a range of funding opportunities across many ACT Government directorates. If you have an idea for a program that doesn’t fit into the ACTHPGP, it may be eligible for other funding sources.
