Australia’s physical activity guidelines recommend that children and young people (5-17 year olds) should accumulate at least one hour of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity every day.
In 2017, 22.2% of boys and 10.5% of girls reported doing vigorous or moderate physical activity for at least one hour every day. Girls were significantly less likely to meet the guidelines than boys in 2017 (p=0.004).
