ASSAD - Self-described drinking status, by age


    In 2017, around three-quarters (74.3%) of secondary students surveyed described themselves as non-drinkers. The proportion of students identifying as non-drinkers decreased with age for both males (p<0.0001) and females (p<0.0001). The proportion of students describing themselves as 'occasional drinkers' or 'party drinkers' increased with age (p for trend <0.0001) and peaked among 17-year-olds at 27.2% for 'occasional drinkers' and 30.0% for 'party drinkers'.
