Salary and conditions for ACT Public Service employees

Information on conditions of employment, salaries and classification structure can be found within the current Enterprise Agreement related to your profession.  Most allied health professions follow the six level Health Professional Classification structure for career progression.

The ACT Public Sector Health Professional Enterprise Agreement covers classifications for health professionals, medical imaging, medical physicists, perfusionists, pharmacists and radiation therapists.

Allied health assistants employed under the AHA classification are employed under the ACT Public Sector Support Services Enterprise Agreement.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officers are employed under the ACTPS Administration and Related Classifications Enterprise Agreement.

Increment structure

Each health professional classification includes a series of increments or pay points. Most of these are automatically applied on the anniversary of an employee’s commencement with the ACT Government Directorate.

Any enquiries regarding starting salary should be discussed with your contact officer at the job you’re applying for.

In some cases, staff may be able to negotiate their progression and level. This is outlined at Section C-Rates of Pay and Allowances in the various Enterprise Agreements.

Workforce development initiatives

The Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer coordinate several allied health staff recognition and retention schemes. For more information please visit:
