  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 9:00am and 4:30pm

You can call us using a free interpreter. The operator will connect you to the interpreter and our clinic. First call 131 450 and tell the operator:

  • the language you speak
  • your name
  • that you want to call Canberra Sexual Health Centre at Canberra Hospital on 02 5124 2184.

What to expect

Our services are completely confidential and all information you provide us is kept securely within our clinic.

Our bookings nurse will ask you about your sexual practices and some personal information to ensure you are booked into the appropriate clinician.

All our clinicians are specially trained in providing sexual health care and are non-judgemental and supportive.

If it is the first time you have visited our service, we will ask you to complete a sexual health history form. This informs the care and testing you might need.

We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your booking, to allow time to time for registering at reception and completing forms.

Medical students

As we are a teaching hospital, at times there may be a student present for your consultation. Where possible, you will be informed at the time of booking and you can opt out if you prefer. If you agree, you will be asked again at the clinic if a student can be present for your consultation.

Results

Results can take up to 7 days. We will contact you if we need to discuss your results. You can also access all your results via the ACT Health Digital Health Record app – myDHR.

If you need treatment, we can organise this in our clinic or with a prescription for medication.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Medicare card - if you have one
