Organisational Structure

The ACT Health Office of Research sits under Health Systems Policy and Research.

Executive Leadership

Research Ethics and Governance Office

The Research Ethics and Governance Office is responsible for the coordination and management of ethical and site governance review processes for ACT Health. Visit Ethics & Governance for more information.

Clinical Trials Unit

The Clinical Trials Unit supports clinical trials in ACT Health including implementing the Clinical Trials National Partnership Agreement. Pre-Clinical and Education Support Unit

The Pre-Clinical & Education Support Unit manages the compliance and operations of the pre-clinical laboratories, which support the activities of researchers and students of ACT Health and its partner institutions. Research Committees

The ACT Centre for Health and Medical Research manages several committees that are important to governing research at ACT Health.

Clinical Trials Committee (CTC)

The Clinical Trials Committee is responsible for the review and authorisation of clinical trials and registry projects conducted at ACT Health.

Human Research Ethics Committee and Subcommittees

Ethical and scientific review is provided by the ACT Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC), see list of members here. To ensure it provides full and comprehensive review services to the research community, the HREC incorporates specialist sub-committees to advise on the research merit and integrity of proposals. The sub-committees are the Clinical Trials Sub-Committee (CTSC), Social Research Sub-Committee, and the Low Risk Sub-Committee.
