Culture Review Submissions

The Independent Review into the Workplace Culture within ACT Public Health Services (the Review) is now seeking submissions on the workplace culture of public health care services in the ACT including the Canberra Hospital, Calvary Public Hospital, Health Directorate and Canberra Health Services. Submissions are open from Monday 15 October to 30 November 2018.

Call for Submissions for the Independent Review into the Workplace Culture within ACT Public Health Services

On 10 September 2018 the Minister for Health and Wellbeing announced the establishment of an Independent Review into the Workplace Culture within ACT Public Health Services (the Review).

We are pleased to have been appointed by the ACT Government to the independent panel to lead the Review into the workplace culture of ACT public health services to ensure the public health care system continues to deliver a high level of care to the community, and is seen as an employer of choice for health professionals.

An independent office has been set up to support us in conducting the Review.

We are now seeking submissions on the workplace culture of public health care services in the ACT including the Canberra Hospital, Calvary Public Hospital, Health Directorate and Canberra Health Services.

We welcome submissions from members of the community, current and former staff, and other interested individuals and organisations.

Submissions will be accepted from 15 October – 30 November 2018.

Through this call for submissions, feedback is sought on the workplace environment and culture of public health care services in the ACT, including thoughts and experiences on what is working well and what is not.

We have also committed to meeting face-to-face with some individuals and interested parties to further enhance their understanding and are looking forward to receiving a wide range of feedback.

The Review will protect the confidentiality and privacy of individuals who make submissions and those who may be the subject of complaints to ensure procedural fairness, whilst ensuring appropriate actions are taken under relevant legislation.

The Review will look into claims made in relation to inappropriate conduct and behaviours, examine and report on existing workforce policies and complaints management practices, and provide clear recommendations for further improving workforce culture and support systems for staff and management.

The panel will provide an interim report to the Minister for Health and Wellbeing by 31 January 2019, with the final report due on 30 March 2019.
